Description
If you want a flexible, very short, inconspicuous and visually elegant release clip – this clip is your first choice. The claws are easy to clip on most normal sized mounting eyes on hard- and soft baits for pike and other large predators. With the semi-open version (left) it´s easy to click on the wire or a small solid ring with your bare hands – even with cold fingers.
The Micro Crystal Release Clip is perfect as a release mechanism for the front hook – especially on deep bodied lures such as many of the classic jerkbaits. It can also be used as the rear release mechanism on lures where the rear mounting eye on the bait is in the same level as the deepest point of the lure body. When this is not the case, we advise you to use the three different sizes of Crystal Release Clips – also sold at releaserigshop.com The semi-open gape of the click-on version eye is made to fit wires in the 0,4-0,6 mm region, but can also clip-on to solid-rings up to around 0,7-0,8 mm in diameter.
These transparent Micro Crystal Release Clips are produced from biodegradable PLA bioplastic – Polylactic Acid. This material represents the dream of a non-petroleum based plastic produced from renewable sources such as maize as opposed to traditional plastics which are derived from non-renewable fossil petroleum based fuels. PLA will typically degrade after 6-24 months in the water, where as conventional plastic will take several hundred to thousands years to degrade. Despite of this we still recommend you to re-cycle this material.
You can also get the Micro Release Clip in a closed eye version (right), that can be threaded on wire when the rig is built – or used when you are using a very thin wire that won´t semi-fix the Micro Release Clip well.
