Gardner Power Gum is the perfect high-friction powergum being well suited for semi-fixed stop knots for different types of release rigs. This specific powergum we have used many years for release rigs for trout and pike, and we can guarantee you that it works fantastic for this purpose. The 7 lbs version is used for seatrout rigs and the 11 lbs version is used for the pike rigs. 22 lbs is perfect for the very crude trolling rigs or rigs for catfish, sturgeon or the like.

In order to get the perfect high-friction knot its important to make it very tight: Tighten up som much, that the knot breaks – and then tighten just a little bit less. Then its perfect. It must be sitting so tight, that you need to press very hard with yout thumb and middle finger to make it slide up or down the trace. If its too loose, your lure will slide down the hooklink so the hooks will not be exposed the right way and the lure will not move correctly.
