Description
Strips of fish fillet or fish skin can be a superb bait for fishing for all predatory fish – including zander. At times it can be superior to softbaits – and if the fish repeatedly do not take your softbait, it can often be the natural smell and appearance of a fillet that triggers the bite on a difficult day.
This moving hook rig designed by Jens Bursell gives the highest possible landing rate: 1) With a combination of the semi-fixed floatstop anchorpoint of the rig and the sliding mount of the hooklink – the hooks can move forward even when the preator locks its jaws over the filet. 2) The loosely dangling superbly exposed small trebles gives maximum chance of getting a good grip plus a superior penetration. And – because of the sliding tungsten weight – no sling-effect will affect the hookhold negatively.
In this rig kit you get 20 meter of Westins topquality W6 fluorocarbon in 0,92 mm for the bitingpiece of the hooklink, 25 meter 0,47 mm ACE Riverge highend fluorocarbon for the main trace, 3 S.F.G carolinastyle inline tungsten weigfhts at 42, 56 and 64 grams, 25 x 5 mm welded solidrings, 20 x #1 split rings from Owner in regular wire, 1 packet of Owner ST36 BC X sz 8 (front hook) one package of Owner STX38 ZX sz. 10 (rear hook), one package of Stonfo Bait elastics sz 1, 1 packet of SPRO Shad Stinger Spikes, 2 packets S.F.G silicone float stops sz XXXL (protection of grinner knot on 0,47 mm FC+ semi-fixed moving hook floatstop), one bag of clear stop beads and 14 lbs Drennan Powergum as alternative semi-fixed moving hook anchor point if float stop gets damaged by predator teeths.
Depending on how you combine the items there is at least for 10 rigs in this rig-kit, but as most metal items can be reused it could be up to 20 rigs.
Check Fisk & Fris Youtube where Jens Bursell shows how he fishes with LiveScope for zander with fillet and fish strips with moving hook rigs. You get all the details on how to make the moving hook rigs and fish with them – and along the way Jens catches lots of great zander up to 9.9 kilos on fillets.
